MARCH 27  LIBRA FULL MOON 6.52 degrees
THE EASTER AND CHRIST FULL MOON

FIRST LIGHT TIME 10.27  GMT/UTC 09:27
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html
This is the Easter Full Moon and the first of the three most powerful Full Moons in the year. The Full Moon is a time of completion and celebration; the Sun in Aries opposite and the Moon in Libra at this time it is about the ascension and awakening of the divine being you are. A time when the Masters, Angels, Golden Solar Beings and Councils of Light illuminate humanity with the Light octaves at the level of Christ consciousness. So a time to transform yourself and surrender into Divine Will, a time to let go of all the old patterns and fears and allow yourself to be the love you are. Move beyond your issues of being a martyr and poor me, as well as the anger and resentment of taking on others stuff, which is really yours and feeling like you do to much for everyone. Time to bring the fire of spirit inside your heart and come from unconditional love and peace, allowing and acceptance.
Also a time to share in joy with friends and family and in the unity of the human family.
The Christ Full Moon is a time of great light and followed by the Wesak Scorpio Full Moon then the Sagittarian Goodwill Full Moon.
AND HEART OPENING
Easter Full Moons are always times when the Councils of Light bring in more Light, and a time of being more aware of having an open heart and connecting within more fully. The Councils of Light are giving us an extra blast of light and little nudge along to be more in our heart.
It would be a good idea to meditate at this time and connect deeper into yourself.
It is time for us to come from the Christ Light within and own our divinity.
The old limitations of the outer projections of our fear are no longer serving us.
At this time you have the opportunity to look at what you still fear, is it your divinity and light, do you still have self hatred and unworthiness issues, a broken heart, aloneness, lack and fear for survival, jealousy, resentment…?
All these issues of the heart can now be faced easily once we own them with love and acceptance. By using the breathe and taking in a deep in breathe right to your belly as it expands, then holding it, then letting it out as your belly contracts, taking in a full breath. As you breathe in golden light and the words love and acceptance this will 100% transmute the fear as long as you keep it up, it may take a few sessions over days or weeks. But you will know when it’s gone as your whole life will change into love and being at peace within.
Please see healing within for some simple meditations that help you come from your heart and listening to your inner voice.
For ten days from this Full Moon there is a doorway opening through the ethers where we have the opportunity to be able to observe and love any imbalances that are still running us from our multi-dimensional holograms we have created more easily. Any veils will be clear so you can access the akashic records of your soul journey more clearly. So take advantage of the clarity to embrace any fragments no matter how subtle.

APRIL

APRIL 10  ARIES NEW MOON 20.40 degrees
FIRST LIGHT TIME 21.35  GMT/UTC 07:20at 09:35.
In Aries with Sun in Aries we have some new beginnings happening here that are fully supported by the universe. So focus on what you are creating for yourself as you step beyond your limitations and into the new you, alive, vibrant, rejuvenated and alive.
This New Moon is a great opportunity to open up to the New Earth. The Councils of Light and Golden Beings through the Suns are illuminating higher frequencies to the Earth Plane for the fuller anchoring of the New Earth.
See in my
HANDBOOK OF RA

APRIL 21/22  Lyrids Meteor Shower.
The Lyrids are an average shower, usually producing about 20 meteors per hour at their peak. These meteors can produce bright dust trails that last for several seconds. The shower usually peaks on April 21 & 22, although some meteors can be visible from April 16 – 25. The gibbous moon could be a problem this year, hiding many of the fainter meteors in its glare. It will set before sunrise, providing a short window of dark skies. Look for meteors radiating from the constellation of Lyra after midnight.

EARTH DAY APRIL 22nd
Every year on this day we commemorate the Earth with some form of celebration, gathering, meditations, honouring of the Earth. Also tree planting or whatever activities, meditations, gatherings you feel guided to do in gratitude, honour, caring and giving back to our sacred Earth Mother who gives us life.

APRIL 25/26  SCORPIO FULL MOON
5.45 degrees
WESAK OR BUDDHA FULL MOON
PARTIAL LUNAR ECLIPSE.
FIRST LIGHT TIME 7.57  GMT/UTC 07:20at 19:57 UTC.

This is the second powerful Full Moon, and often called the Buddha Full Moon or Wesak Full Moon. Wesak is the valley below Mount Kailash in Tibet that is the Crown Chakra of Earth. Every year at this Full Moon the Masters, Holy people, Swamis, Sadhus make a pilgrimage to this valley where all the Masters and non physical Divine Beings meet together for the shift in consciousness for humanity and to anchor the higher energies onto the Earth Plane. It is also the time Buddha’s birthday is celebrated.
Mt Titiroa New Zealand is the Crown Chakra of the New Earth, the New Earth is one with the Earth as we know it and as we come more from our hearts and beyond the illusion of duality we live in Heaven on Earth, we are already in the New Earth.
So in your meditation you may want to travel to the Wesak Valley to join all these other beautiful beings and be open to whatever you feel guided from within to do in regards meditation, anchoring divine light on Earth, personal messages, transmutation of your being and/or humanities as this is an opportunity not to be missed.  Or you maybe ready for the new Light Codes of the higher dimensional Earth and the clear light as you own that you are the Goddess/God now and guardian in clear light.
The opportunity with the Wesak Full Moon is that we can also surrender more fully to our fears, pain and duality aspects into the divine love of our true essence and the cosmic energies in ease and grace. So you will be supported fully in your desire to be in divine will with an open heart.
A wonderful time to access and love your own duality fears and well as assisting humankind to go beyond all limitations and shine in your true light.
Also a time when you can more easily review contracts you have made to grow and unify and to do your mission on Earth. You can see the bigger picture and your soul story and connectiveness with all experiences and your life/s holograms and what is really taking place with the cycles and the shift as we move through the Galactic Centre.
The divine beings in Mt Kailash wish to commune with you and assist in realizations within and awakenings of your vital force. They work with you in your sleep but now is a time to become conscious of them and the work you do in the higher dimensional realms.
In the bigger picture the energies have now been transferred Mt Kailash to Mt Titiroa link…. TRANSFERANCE OF ENERGY FROM MT KIALASH TO MT TITIROA, South Island New Zealand, but will take over 300 years in 3D time to anchor fully. So apart from soul travelling to Wesak and Mt Kailash you may want to visit Mt Titiroa in the South Island on the inner, this is the Crown Chakra of the New Earth, Mt Kailash has been the Crown Chakra in the old paradigm. When the energies transferred at the 2009 Wesak Full Moon it was a shift for the outer Goddesses and Gods to the inner within us and to Clear Light as we are the guardians and beam holders of Earth and the Solar System, Galaxy and Stars are illuminated through our energy field and chakras.

A Lunar Eclipse is when the Sun and Moon are opposite with the Earth in between, a Partial Eclipse is when the Moon’s position opposite the Sun is only partially shadowed.
The eclipse will be visible throughout most of Africa, Europe, Asia, and Australia. (NASA Map and Eclipse Information)
Lunar Eclipses are working more on the emotions, inner and hidden aspects, you will be able to go deep not only into your own psyche and centre but work with the Councils of Light in holding the Divine Source/Light portals world wide in oneness and unity. Creating higher dimensional zones where duality has been playing out. This is not about changing, controlling or judging but merely being the anchor you truly are and holding the higher frequencies as we move beyond the illusion.

This eclipse is illuminating us from within and bringing clarity to see and be our higher self/inner self and work in the Bigger Picture. If you feel stuck look at your life from yourself as a Light Being and laugh and lighten up.
Also be aware that everyone in your life is there in a bigger picture sense as well. Ask permission on the inner planes if you are allowed to be shown who they really are, and your mission together from the bigger picture and Greater Reality. This will help to shift a lot of the old patterns and dramas that are no longer appropriate and be in a peaceful loving space with everyone.
In the Bigger Picture you may feel guided to be at a vortex point or sacred site as there is much occurring now with the grids and the anchor points of the old and new paradigms. A shift is taking place and many portals and vortexes that held the beam in the old paradigm when duality was our lesson are now changing position as we unify and awaken our hearts to the love that we are. Some are still working and are being recalibrated. There is a lot of Light coming in with this eclipse as the Moon assists us to move through the initiations of the heart.

THIS IS THE FIRST LUNAR ECLIPSE, THE NEXT IS
THE SAGITTARIAN  FULL MOON AND SECOND LUNAR ECLIPSE  IS ON MAY 25th

This full moon is the Goodwill Moon and the second powerful lunar eclipse after the Weask Full Moon in Scorpio and point in consciousness that we are all connecting through regardless of what moon people feel it is. (Some people are confused, saying this is the Wesak Full Moon) but it is drawing everyone into a time of sacred inner connection with the earth, the grids and vortexes and stargates.

I am guided to take a group to the place of First Light, East Cape NZ for it.

THE ENERGIES IN BETWEEN ECLIPSES CAN BE VERY INTENSE.
If possible spend time at a vortex and just be with the Earth and multi-dimensional energies in a state of allowing and peace. The energy between eclipses can be very full on and between two lunar eclipse means we are being drawn deep inside to love and parts of us that are still holding onto fear and illusion. A big clean out time.

APRIL 28  SATURN AT OPPOSITION.
The ringed planet will be at its closest approach to Earth and its face will be fully illuminated by the Sun.
This is the best time to view and photograph Saturn and its moons.

For one human being to love another:

That is perhaps the most difficult of all our tasks,

The ultimate, the last test and proof, the work

For which all other work is but preparation.

R.M.Rilke

Preparation, says Rilke. What can we do to prepare ourselves for this most important task – that of loving another human being?  As Rilke solemnly cautions – this love business is hard work! So how do we prepare ourselves if loving another isn’t so much about finding the right person, as being the right person?

What does being the right person even look like?  This is a question that cannot be answered in a paragraph. Might be a good time to go and make yourself a cup of tea.

Okay, you’re back ? Take a deep breath. Now,  I want to say at the outset, I am coming from a place that sees life as a spiritual experience, as much as it is a physical one. In fact, what I will be exploring in this book, will be largely spiritual. This is because for everything which manifests in the physical world, there is another, larger part, held back in the unmanifest one. We live in a universe of duality, but the ultimate nature of life is unity. (Uni-verse – one song). Unity is where we came from. It is this divine state of unity that some call God. This force, this divine, invisible energy is our ultimate essence. We become physical beings so that  we can manifest our divine nature through experiencing our creative power in the material world. And while we do, our ‘higher self’ waits back in the oneness, beyond this third dimension we call reality. All the while we are living here in the world of duality, we crave love and connection, because we have an innate sense of our incompleteness. We are incomplete. Our rush to unite with the opposite sex is our physical body’s craving for the unity from which we came.

Living in a body, as we know, can be wonderful. The pleasures and excitements of being ‘embodied’ are undoubtedly very sexy. As physical beings, we cannot be in a relationship without one ….. a body that is.

But we are not only physical bodies: we are multi-dimensional – which means we exist in a number of different planes, or dimensions, at any one time.  We know this, we feel it. We know our emotions are not contained within our bodies. We experience them through our bodies. Our emotions feel like us, but they are not. They are simply passing states coming from physiological responses to thoughts and feelings. Our memories, likewise, are not contained or constrained by the physical brain.

Every night when we go to sleep and dream, we are operating outside of the third dimensions of space/time. We are free then, to reconnect with the other elements of our being. For the most part we are blissfully unaware of the depths within and around us. We are actually physical bodies  inside soul bodies, not the other way around.

If we are going to heed the wisdom of masters and sages who have walked the planet before us, and the poet quoted above, we are going to have to face the fact that finding and living in love is largely about ourselves!  You may think well, that’s easy. I already work on myself – I go to the gym, watch what I eat, I look after my body.   But the masters didn’t mean perfecting our physical bodies (beautiful and admirable though a perfect body is), or working hard to advance in the material world.  No, all of this cellular matter is destined to hit the scrap heap one day. It will have completed its work here, and , really, we will have no more use for it.  Like everything in this dimension, these bodies are temporary.  Not so, our spiritual bodies, or our higher selves – or soul bodies.  This is the aspect of ourselves that we are here to work on. Our soul is the container of our consciousness – and it is this that will live on, long after our term here on Earth has ended. It is this that will accompany us into the next life, and the next….

If it is true, that we need to work on ourselves buy expanding our consciousness and greater minds than many of ours seem to agree that we do, then  this has to be the key to loving well. Becoming more conscious is the means of ending our loneliness and our pain. It is one of the reasons we are here. We are all evolving, it is just a question of whether we do it consciously or unconsciously. This is our quintessential mission: to become more conscious, or more self-aware of our higher selves. And it is also the way we find, hold onto and live in a state of real love. We agreed to take on this mission before we came here and it is the task that will consume us for as long as it takes to finally get it.

It is when we allow fear to take centre stage in our lives, instead of love, that we create the messes and various levels of quiet and not-so-quiet desperation we find ourselves in. We are separating, divorcing and looking for new  partners at a frequency never before seen on the planet. All this frantic searching for the ‘perfect partner’ and the relationship wars we become embroiled in may be symptomatic of our own, deep-seated fears. These coalesce around the universal fears of separation and abandonment. Separating and divorcing need not be permeated with our fear. Ideally, they can, and should be, an open acknowledgement that the path we have travelled on together has reached an intersection – indicating the time has come to go our separate ways. The karmic contract has reached its conclusion. We can agree to do so with love and forgiveness – and thanks. We need not carry the dark faces of fear with us in our relationships…..

…….(to be continued)….

Image

…….It is true, we do live in a compassionate universe.

Acknowledging then, that life is the ultimate teacher, I offer here my humble suggestions and thoughts on the nature of this love business. I believe that this subject, love and the rules that it operates through, is SO supremely important that it’s worth listening to anyone’s insights. I’m no expert on the topic – any more than the next counsellor or divorced, separated, married or old person is.

You might have discerned a thread there.  It could be called ‘life experience.’  Any of us who have lived through relationship making and breaking, or who have listened to and emphathised with others who are in the pains of relationship making and breaking, have accumulated some experience on the subject of love. This is where I am coming from. Because a lot of my work in astrology is centred on relationships, I would like to share some of my insights in the hope of helping you understand this – well, very big topic.

Love is such a big subject because it is the heading for life. Life is infinitely complex and mysterious and yet, it’s simple too. The reason we have made it complicated could be summed up in one word: fear. There is only love and fear, or pleasure and pain.  This is a universe of duality – so when we understand this, we know that we have a choice. We can choose which end of the polarity we will align ourselves with. When we choose fear over love, we create drama and pain for ourselves.  Getting back to the love end of the pole, and learning how to heal our fears and wounds – this is our challenge.

Life is contrast. In this universe of duality it seems to be that we need to experience the fears, the dark, in order to fully know the love and the light. Relationships are one of the ways we experience contrast.  Nothing else that can take us into the dark spaces more effectively than love gone wrong. Nothing strips us naked quite like love.  But what else can take us to the heights of ecstasy like love? As Eva Cassidy sang:  “Love heals the wounds it makes.” It does! And healing those wounds is part of the journey we all have to make.

So then, let us make this journey together, into the  territory of the heart. Writer Jessamyn West said, “Talent is helpful in writing, but guts are absolutely necessary.”  I’d like to add, my intention in putting forward these thoughts is about one thing only: a sharing of my truth. Much of what I will be saying here is not my thoughts alone . Sharing universal truths that I have discovered and explored as I made my journey – this is my mission here.  It is up to you to decide for yourself whether they feel like truth for you  – or not.  Truth, of course, has infinite expression and naturally changes and evolves over time. It is dependent on the consciousness of the beholder – or holder. At some point it serves us to contain ‘truth’ into some system or other – one that is relevant in our time. That is all I am doing here. I would like to think that you will resonate with these thoughts. If you do, then all I am doing is reminding you of something you already know. If you don’t, all that is required (apart from clicking out of here) is an open mind and perhaps a little experimentation. Life, after all is an experiential exercise. We are here to life it! We are creating it as we go along, and we are always free to choose differently, if we don’t like what’s happening.

We are living in the most interesting of times – such was the ancient Chinese curse.  We are being flooded with information at a rate never seen on the planet before. Ancient wisdom mingles with the latest findings of quantum physics. Fascinatingly, their merging is a birthing of a new ‘truth’. It is one that unites both. There is a lot to come to grips with. Science and spirituality are flirting with each other and meeting up in the strangest of places. And we go on living our lives in these consciously evolving bodies that are still heavily encoded with primitive, animal instinct. Wisdom, which is the distillation of our knowledge, experience, and insight, is needed if we are to survive intact. There are many channels of wisdom, many paths to the truth – and ultimately we must find the one that is right for us. No one has the final word. But in the end, all paths lead us home.

In the final analysis, we are all in this together; all on the ride that is this exquisitely mysterious adventure we call life. And one thing’s for certain, we can’t do it without love. Love is what holds it all together. We might as well pay a bit of attention to the ‘rules’ of love, those universal laws I’ve called ‘heart rules’, which, like it or not, we have to play by……for as long, that is, as we are calling Earth our home.

…….(to be continued) – Chapter One coming soon

The intelligence that runs this universe of ours has a sense of irony.  Or is it humour?  Actually it is neither of those words.  It is something far more breath-taking:  it is synchronicity – and when it weaves in and out of mundane life, we glimpse the mystery.  At such times, we know with absolute certainty – you couldn’t make this stuff up!

I was thinking about pain, in the wake of the piece I had written on the subject. I had said that pain’s purpose was to create awareness. My focus, in the article, was more on emotional pain than physical pain. I soon had cause to consider the latter.

I had taken a yoga class in the morning and come home to my computer. Instead of working, I found myself listening to an interesting pod-cast. In the middle of it, still feeling energised from my class, I jumped up out of my seat to do a headstand. I threw my legs up, straight, in one movement (rather than bending my knees and coming up in two stages). I was rushing, stupidly, and as soon as my legs hit vertical I felt a ping, (or did I hear it?) at the top of my neck, or my spinal column.  Yep, it was painful.  I came down at once, cursing my foolishness  – or rather, my mindlessness.  Yoga is meant to be about mindfulness, about attention. As we bring conscious awareness to our practice, we bring body and mind together – in a metaphoric and literal merging of dualities. I’d done none of that. I was half listening to the pod-cast (on a near death experience!) and thinking about something else at the same time. How NOT to do yoga.

Throughout the afternoon and evening the pain in my neck got worse – despite ice packs and painkillers.  Physical pain serves a vital and protective function – as we all know.  It hurt to move my head even slightly – clearly my body’s wisdom was suggesting I not do that. As the pain began to radiate down the length of my neck into my back and up into my head, hammering into my cells the lesson of paying attention, I thought about another interesting twist to my mishap.  The first was the synchronicity of thinking about pain and in particular, physical pain, then experiencing it – but as well as graphically illuminating the intention of pain, (yes, universe, it’s awareness, I’ve got it!) – I wondered about the planets.

I ‘do’ astrology – but I’m not usually very good at keeping a regular eye on my own chart; that is, my transits, solar arcs, progressions (the techniques of the dynamic chart). However a couple of weeks ago I decided to write all of them, for the year, in my diary – so I would see them daily, and keep up to speed.  I had noticed earlier in the day that I had a somewhat challenging, or stressful aspect of transiting Uranus to natal Uranus (apologies if astrological jargon is not your thing – essentially, Uranus in the heavens, that day, was making a mathematically significant angular relationship to the position it occupied when I was born).  I wondered what form this would take, and to be honest, I didn’t have a clue.  It involved Uranus so I decided it would be about ‘acting independently.’  I set about a few tasks along said line. Little did I know the universe had other plans.   I will quote from an astrology text (by Bil Tierney) on the nature of this particular aspect:   “This aspect appears to involve a greater degree of sudden upset and unexpected disruption that temporarily stuns, shocks or jolts our sensibilities……..  we are apt to react to conflicts in an overly forceful manner which tends to throw situations off balance (my italics;  headstand probably wasn’t the best thing to have done that day)……we are emotionally in a flux and at odds with an unprecedented turn-about of events out of our control. Situations under this aspect tend to break down or fall apart.”     The fact that the planet(s) involved in this energetic confluence was Uranus, underscored  the ‘sudden, shocking, out of the blue, stunning’ nature of the aspect , as these are all properties of Uranus itself. Tierney talks about ‘misjudgement’ and reacting in an ‘overly forceful manner’ and ‘lacking composure and self-restraint,’ in connection with this aspect.  Mmm, guilty as charged. I had flung my legs up into a headstand without my usual caution. I was quite unconscious, in fact, about what I was doing – operating on automatic pilot as we say.

So then, did the universe conspire to deliver the message to ‘wake up!’ – by compelling me to act in such a way that physical pain would the outcome  (via the shocking and unexpected energy of Uranus, and the nasty little aspect) – drawing my attention to my lack of attention, and bringing my awareness to the consequences of my lack of awareness ?   How else could I have really ‘got’ the fact that mindfulness is essential, in the practice of yoga, without experiencing pain?  We can understand something in theory – but the bottom line is – life is an experiential exercise.  We have to get it – in our connective tissue, in our nervous system, in our bodies to really get it into our awareness.

I concluded in my last piece, that I was drawn to the notion we can evolve without the necessity for pain. And this may be obvious when you think about it.  As awareness grows, we no longer need the experience of pain, in the body.  Why? Because, we have learnt the hard way, the consequences of a lack of awareness.  True, we may need the lesson repeated more than once. And this process may take many lifetimes. But ultimately, just as we are ‘outgrowing’ the need for the ego to occupy the drivers’ seat of our consciousness, we are growing away from the need for pain.  The word consciousness, by the way, seems to cause some confusion and debate, especially amongst the more scientifically minded – but simply, we (those of us communicating on the topic) use the word to describe a state of self-awareness – as differentiated from being alive and awake – ie not unconscious. We believe the universe itself is conscious. That is, it is self-aware – and on an evolutionary trajectory – just as we are.

How else can we explain meaningful coincidences – such as the one above?  We are not the architects of every event that befalls us – but clearly, someone, or something, with intelligence, awareness, compassion  and creative genius, is!    The planetary patterns, both real and symbolic, that accompany you on your voyage from cradle to grave, seem to follow a thread as it takes you in and out of all the experiences of your life for a reason. Whether you know your astrology or not, you cannot help but stand in awe of the mystery when you realize your entire life is a puzzle and that all the little twists and turns of fate, the chance encounters, the accidents, were taking you somewhere, teaching you something. And despite your self-awareness, unravelling it is beyond anything you can imagine.  (I suspect the unravelling will only come when we pass over and out of this physical reality.) When synchronicity casts its spell, shaking you out of ordinary consciousness, you know without a shadow of a doubt,  that you just couldn’t  have made this stuff up.

As conscious as I like to think myself to be, and armed with the ‘added advantage’ of knowing my astrology, I am nevertheless powerless to side-step my fate.  And why would l want to?  Yes, I know this is a hot topic and very much open for debate. But I see the universe, god, the supreme being, the creator, whatever you choose to call it – as intelligent and compassionate – meaning, ‘it’ has my, our, interests at heart.  Therefore, to try to side-step  the plan it has for me, whether by employing the tools of astrology, or the messages and warnings of psychics, channels and the like, is naïve.  It is egoistic to think we know better than the immense intelligence that created and orders the workings of the physical universe, from the circulation of blood and oxygen through our bodies, the pumping of our hearts – to the changing of the seasons and the transformation of matter into energy and back again. No, the most we can hope to do is to co-operate with the plan.  Using astrology, we may be able to make an educated guess as to the nature of what is heading our way – but trust me, the mystery will always prevail.  An astrologer friend of mine, of vast years of experience in the ancient art, saw he had a transit of the Moon looming. He thought it signified the death of his mother. Turned out, his wife left him.  Even he, with decades of wisdom and experience of the astro-logos, could not ‘guess’ what the universe had in store.   He might not have chosen that particular event,  but on some level, his wife leaving him was part of the plan for the evolution of his consciousness.

If the universe is invested in our becoming more aware, more conscious, and I believe it is, then we must learn to trust the process that is our life unfolding.  Our character dictates our fate in more ways than we might imagine – and our astrology dictates our character.  But we have free will.  Yes, I realize I have contradicted myself. The mystery is, if nothing else, paradoxical. We have the free will to become more conscious and to cooperate or work with the story of our life as it unfolds. And as we do, we understand that everything that comes to us – is for us!  I love the simplicity of that.  I feel it is true.  As we trust the process that is unerringly guiding us forwards, sending the experiences and lessons our way that enable us to fathom life, and ultimately, to know love, then whatever comes to us from ‘out of the blue’, we accept – and we use it well.

Healing Our Emotions

“I have known good and evil,

Sin and virtue, right and wrong;

I have judged and been judged;

I have passed through birth and death,

Joy and sorrow, heaven and hell;

And in the end I realized

That I am in everything

And everything is in me.”

(Hazrat Inayat Khan)

The words above tell a tale of life in this place of duality – where everything has its opposite. There is a sound of freedom, in Khan’s realization that, in the end, ‘I am in all and everything is in me.’

His awakening to the truth of oneness beyond duality and separation is the uncluttered awareness that lies open to all of us. This awareness is our liberation from the ‘wound of duality’; from the heaven and hell of living in the mind and time ruled world.

It is time that keeps us locked in the left-brain, mind dominated, egoic consciousness – and it is time that anchors us to the illusion of separateness – the source of so much of our pain.  We transcend the limitations of time when we are able to hold an awareness of  presence.  In the ‘now’ we are freed, for a ‘time’,  from the painful memories of the past and the imagined fears of the future. We are freed from the tyranny of the ego-mind. Our childhood traumas, and the wounding we sustained in past lives – dragged from lifetime to lifetime as energetic imprints on our emotional bodies –  can be healed in the timelessness of the eternal now. Beyond the mind and ego, in the here and now, there is no emotional charge, there is only non-vibrating stillness.

Mindfulness, paradoxically, is required, to take us beyond the mind.  Mindfulness is the taming of the mind.  As we tame the mind, as we pay attention to the present – we function through the higher mind. This is the mind we need to go beyond the ego and the emotions – and to the realization that we are not them. Emotions are the outward action or response to feelings and feelings are the fluctuating gauge of our response to life in this reality.  They are as unstable and changeable as the Moon (which, in astrology has rulership over our feeling nature). Our suffering is always connected to our identification – with a thought, a feeling, an emotion – and invariably it is to a transient state. Everything in the world of form is transient, and that includes our thoughts and emotions.  This identification is a trick of the ego. But it is a trick that is part of our evolutionary intent. We need this identification with emotional states in order to know them, and ultimately to grow beyond them.

Carl Jung said, there is no coming to consciousness without pain. We need, it seems, the experience of pain and suffering in order to go beyond it. Mindless creatures do not experience emotional suffering as we do……simply because they have no ego-mind with which to do so.  Many animals, of course, have a level of conscious awareness that allows them to experience a wide range of emotions – more than some (damaged) humans in fact.

When we experience suffering, it is the wake-up call that we are resisting something, we are denying something, we are not accepting something; we have taken up residence at one end of a polarity.  In Hazrat Inayat Khan’s poem above, he had to experience separateness, he had to taste  both sides of emotion, of birth and death, to know he was, all along, inseparable – from everything. He realized that he was in everything and everything was in him – but not before he had suffered.

As we all know, pain and suffering is a very real part of the human condition. We are not all enlightened spiritual masters. We are human. We have highly developed nervous systems and we feel physical pain.  We form bonds of love and emotional ties with other people. Bonds we are later forced to sever, as we lose, one way or another, everyone we have loved. It is natural to try to avoid pain – whether it is physical or emotional – because it hurts. We are drawn to form intimate relationships with people who seem to have been beamed in to us to make us suffer. In truth, they come to help us heal our imbalances. Our lovers and betrayers, our soul mates, our parents and children and others we form relationships with are all showing us sides of ourselves, sides of human nature,  which we couldn’t know without personally experiencing them in our bodies, in the form of feelings and emotions.

What can we do then, to at least minimise our ‘human condition’ suffering?  We can begin to pay attention to the present moment, at any moment through the day. Whatever we are feeling or experiencing, we can remind ourselves of the present moment.  Zen Master, Thich Nhat Hanh has a wonderful little mantra – say to yourself, whenever you remember:  “I have arrived. I am home, in the here and now.”   This mantra, he says, will take you immediately to your ‘ultimate nature’ – your infinite, timeless, self.

If we are experiencing stronger feelings, we can try to detach our awareness from the sensations and thoughts and take a birds’ eye view. We can, even if for a brief moment, observe ourselves having thoughts, having feelings, having emotions.  We might realize how we have become so identified with our emotional state, that our whole body is involved with it.  If the suffering is too great, say we are grieving the loss of someone dear to us, we can breathe.  This is enough: to consciously breathe – in and out. Deep, slow, even breaths bring us, momentarily, into presence – as focus on the breath stills the mind and alters our vibrational frequency. Until another wave of pain surfs in, picking us up in its cold embrace, taking us beneath the surface where we cannot breathe, where our heart is squeezed so hard the pain radiates out and down through our entire body.  We go with it, feeling the pain, feeling the tears. Then, reminding ourselves to breathe again, we watch the wave begin to subside. We feel the vice grip in our heart-space begin to release. We soften a little, in the wake of the wave of pain – and rest, for a moment……..until the next wave comes.  The waves may continue for however long they may.  But as we allow our grief, as we meet the pain, from a place of non-resistance, we allow the process to move through us and out the other side. We don’t need to embrace it, we don’t need to welcome it. We simply need to feel it and allow it to flow.

Spiritual teacher and founder of the Light Institute, Chris Griscom, says:  “….We see that our body mirrors the same messages as our feelings and thoughts. In fact, if we do not express our feelings, the body will store them just as it stores biochemical substances such as glycogen. In other words, the body is a magnificent translator of matter to energy and energy to matter. It views emotions as energy and ultimately stores that energy as matter within the cells.  If the emotional energy is not subsequently released, it will condense into matter and create blockages within the body itself – leading to disease.”

We realize, if we are very conscious, that the emotion of pain flowing through us, is not really us. It is moving through our body, altering our biochemistry, causing physical sensations within our body – it feels intensely personal and we feel very alone in our pain – but if we can, even for a moment, detach our awareness from the sensations, we can glimpse a stillness behind the waves of pain.  This is who we are!  We are the stillness!  So we are experiencing pain but it is not us. And this is as it is, or as it needs to be.  Pain has a purpose. Its purpose is to create awareness. There is no coming to consciousness, said Jung, without pain. But, having said that, I would like to believe that as we evolve, we can learn to minimise pain.  In not identifying so completely with our pain, we realize that we are experiencing a temporary state, just as we are temporarily experiencing being in these bodies. And we come to the awareness that, in the end, we are much more than our passing feelings and emotions – we are infinite consciousness. And that is what will continue on – the oneness which is our true nature. As we release the energy of our emotions (grief, loss, fear, regret, bitterness, anger, sadness…..) through non-resistance and the power of presence, we free our oneness, our true self, to continue on, unencumbered.   This is the mission we are all on here – to heal our emotions and move through the illusion of time, free and unencumbered – for we are in everything, and everything is in us.

Do you want a Conscious Relationship?Image

That is – a mature, loving, safe and emotionally bonded partnership, with someone who treats you with love and respect?

If you’ve had enough of the pain and heartbreak of relationship and want to understand what is going on with that! – then read on…

In 2005 I wrote a book about conscious relationships – it was published under the title “Heart Rules”…    I was then, as I am now, fascinated by the heart.  The name for the title came to me in flash, as I was thinking about how powerful the heart is – how it rules these lives of ours, in fact.  I was fascinated by love and relationships. I had been deeply hurt by them, and sought to understand my own journey through the challenges, pains and duplicitous pleasures of marriage and relationship. I felt I was very conscious through the process of living in, and separating from an abusive marriage. But I had still suffered. Writing Heart Rules was to be a catharsis – though I didn’t know it at the time. In telling the story of my own experience in my marriage and other relationships, my intention was to offer up any wisdom I had gleaned along the way, in the hope of helping others to more successfully navigate their own relationships.  We could all do with a little help in that regard, I figured. By that time, I had been learning about  metaphysics, spirituality, theosophy, energy and alternative healing, and comparative religions, for more 20 years.  And I had worked as a journalist  – I like words, so I felt I had something to bring to the table.  Writing Heart Rules, sharing my story – proved to be a powerful release. (It was a few other things as well, but I wont go them here).

Heart Rules was a finalist in the Ashton Wylie book awards for Mind/Body/Spirit publications here in New Zealand, the following year.  It is, unfortunately, no longer in publication (for various reasons).  (My subsequent book, ‘Sun Signs and Soul Mates,’ was also a finalist in the Ashton Wylie awards – it is still available).

Recently, I had the feeling it was timely, to revisit the book, so I have decided to bring it back to life, here on my blog. I listen to the relationship stories of my daughter, and other young women  – and witness the experiences of my three sons. My daughter is now the age I was when I was newly married, and about to embark on a journey – to depths I could never have imagined I would be compelled to descend. The words hell and back, spring to mind. If I can offer a little guidance to any of her generation – and in fact, my own generation (our love dramas have no age boundaries) through the sharing of my story , to help them avoid some of the pain I went through, then hey – what’s to lose?  I am privileged to be in a position to do so.  I’ve been there and back. And I’m happy to report, life after a toxic relationship is better than it ever was before.

Incidentally, a new app has recently been launched, which I wrote the copy for – on this vast subject of relationships.  Check it out!   It’s called Happy@love. I hope you find it helpful.

Recently, I had the good fortune to meet up with an incredibly astute young woman, Alaina Greenberg. Alaina is a Relationship Coach who believes the subject is so vast and subjective that she always has an eye out for others (like myself),  who share a similar message through alternative vehicles, to collaborate with.  Alaina’s preferred method of expanding love, consciousness and promoting personal growth is through the interpretation and activation of the underlying neurological processes that drive or block our progress.  Together, we plan to present an in-depth discussion, from both our perspectives, about the universally experienced phenomena known as relationship.

Alaina is inviting a discussion on the points raised in Heart Rules on her blog:   http://www.nextsteprelationshipcoaching.com/2013/03/13/heart-rules-story/

Finally, the postings that follow are my words, as they were written in Heart Rules, but  possibly freshened up a little here and there as I deem appropriate.  Any questions or comments you may have, feel free to direct to me – and please visit Alaina and see what wise words she, and other contributors have to share….

HEART RULES

INTRODUCTION

“It is only with the Heart that one can see rightly,

What is essential is invisible to the eye.”

Antoine de St Exupery

The heart is more than a power generator for the body; it is a container for the soul. Mysterious and enigmatic, the language the heart speaks is not always easy to understand. It whispers, shouts, expands, contracts. The many moods of the heart are our constant companion and make up the emotional ride that is this life. The heart compels us to move toward others; then urges us to walk away. We know the loud pain of ‘heart break’, but seem less able to decipher the heart’s quieter voice.

The heart is where we feel life. More than that, the heart rules life.

If we are to understand life at all, the essentials of life, we need to listen to the heart. To live life largely, to love largely, we need open hearts. We must resist the slamming shut of the heart’s gates when life pain threatens us, sometimes the hardest thing in the world to do.  We must love generously, spiritedly, courageously, and consciously. This is the mission we are on. It is the essence of all spiritual teachings. And what is more, it is the only way we can survive and thrive in these physical bodies.  Without love, we become sick, we shrink, we harden and crystallise in body and soul. And when we leave this life, what do we leave behind? The mark of a life well lived is the love that stays in the hearts of others. It is the love we have generated and shared. A well lived life, is a well loved life.

It is the heart that rules, from the moment of our birth, to our last breath. It is a journey we are all on, to know love – in all its faces.

Our innermost selves may intuit that life is a long and convoluted mission to learn about love, but somehow the outer side, our personality, the aspect of us that acts in the real world, doesn’t always get it!  We have an expectation that love will be there for us, and it will be automatic and straight-forward, and all our needs will be met.  And then we meet real life.  In our pain and confustion, we become walking contradictions. We crave connections with others, while at the same time we clam up, slam the gates around out hears shut and stop ourselves from doing so – becoming our own worst enemies in the process.  We can justify our actions alright. Or at least our egos can. Our defences and projections, composed of past pain, are alive and well, and unless we are awake to them, we remain in their grip…..often for a lifetime. It is the scared voice of the ego that makes us withdraw when we could be reaching out. We close down our hearts and end up hurting, most of all, ourselves. We think love can’t be trusted and so we shut up shop.  We create pain for ourselves as we live half lives – which are what our lives become without the connections love makes. Our power is dammed as vast amounts of energy are absorbed in keeping the gates closed. We can feel very alone at such times, and life is more a struggle than a joy.

But we are not alone. Our separateness is an illusion. We are all in this together. In a heartbeat we can change our perceptions from feeling we are separate and apart, to knowing we are connected.  How? Through opening our hearts and minds to the flow of the force that is love.

Love is the destination as well as the journey. Only love can take us out of our self-imposed prisons and open us up to the beauty and richness that life on this planet has to offer. Only connection can take us out of ourselves and our feelings of aloneness. Connection, contact, open-heartedly merging with others are different ways of saying love.

Wasted, is all the time not spent in loving.

Route maps for this journey we are on are hard to find. How are we supposed to ‘know’ how to love? How do we find our way on this road that is anything but straight and narrow? It’s not our fault that we are fragmented from ‘stuff’ we’ve gone through, or somehow inherited. That stuff, or energy can take on a life of its own. We seem to have little control at times over the subconscious, that small universe within us, when it rises up and takes over our conscious intent. When we abort yet another potentially loving moment through the ill-timed expression of unconscious forces, we are left confused and then bereft. Why did we do that? Why weren’t we more in control of ourselves? What was THAT about? So often the intensity of our negative emotions is something we regret, but continue to enact.

It is always to our detriment, when we act unconsciously. And each time we do, we’re thrust back to that bleak and loveless space we know too well. We’re back in lonely land. Gone is the beauty, and the peace, of connection. We feel separate and adrift and that’s a scary place to be.

Or if we don’t ‘act out’ when we feel hurt, we may retreat. The ecstatic vibrations that contact creates are replaced by the heavy thud of a low vibration. This is the heavy energy feeling of a heart operating in survival mode. We have shut down the life force and slowly we suffocate in the airlessness created by our own limited beliefs and fears.

It is this contact, this connection with others that we want. It drives us forward on our life’s journey. Desire is a powerful fuel. Behind the drive for money, success and fame there is always a less showy, more humble, very human desire – the desire to be loved.  And love can sometimes drive us to the edge of reason. There is no force more powerful than the force of love. The attracting energy of love, which is a spiritual energy, is the same energy that holds the physical universe together. We are physical and spiritual creatures, and that energy permeates every aspect of our being. Its presence or absence impacts every level of our multi-dimensionality; from our emotional  and mental well-being to our physical health.

The seat of the love force within us is the heart, which has an (obvious) physical aspect, as well as a psycho-spiritual one. The heart is the meeting place of our bodies, minds and souls. Studies by the Heartmath Institute at the University of Colorado have been able to demonstrate that it is the heart that entrains the brain, and not the other way around. The brain takes its instructions from the heart! The heart rules in other words!

It’s all about frequency. Through frequency, the heart can communicate with every cell in our bodies. If we can expand our heart’s capacity for love, we can override the emotional addictions that, though we may not know it, are running our lives. Emotional addictions are those emotions that have created (one way or another) a ‘charge’ for us. Our brain pathways around these ‘memories’ become stronger each time we re-encounter, or evoke the original emotion. Peptides, carriers of emotion, flood through every cell of our bodies, altering our body chemistry and turning our feelings into somatic responses.

The way out of the painful dramas of endless pattern repetition we create for ourselves is through expansion of our consciousness. And consciousness, you may be surprised to hear, is not just a brain thing. It is also a heart thing. The is because first we feel, then we interpret. Consciousness, you could say then, is a heart-brain awareness. The voice of intuition is the voice of the heart; the voice of rational thinking, the brain.  Combined, they merge to become true consciousness. When I talk of consciousness in this book, I am meaning this merging of intelligence and intuition. It is a ‘holistic’ awareness and because we are intelligent, it is something we can learn to control and develop. We can learn to quiet our thoughts, largely the workings of the ego, to tame the mind, and listen to our hearts. We will then act in ways which will develop and strengthen our bonds with others.  We can become more consciously loving.

The rules of the heart we learn primarily through experience; through living life, and through feeling the pains and pleasures of being in a body. We gradually learn that life is a self-correcting process. For every error we make, we are  guided back to the path. The universe, for all its grandeur and mystery, is still intimately concerned with our well-being, our growth, our evolution as spiritual beings. This is a compassionate universe. How could it be otherwise, when the energy that runs it is the energy of love?

……………..(to be continued)…….

The Field….and Us

Image

Einstein said: “The field is the sole governing agency of the particle.”  We know, from the revelations of quantum physics, that this field, or all-pervasive space, is an in-formation field within which everything in the universe exists. There is a non-local connectivity in the field – which must be a type of web, or super-fluid – enabling the instantaneous transfer of information from one body to another, one consciousness to another – and from the field itself, to all of life.  The field not only governs the particles (us) within it – but it responds to the particles too! The energy of thought and emotion alter the field – and thus affect its evolution. We are then participants in the evolution of the field.

The field is a soup of conscious intelligence that permeates the universe, and within which, we are all participants.

As participants in the field of consciousness, we have the freedom to choose more of it. As we grow and mature spiritually and psychologically, we are able to choose to embody greater consciousness, higher intelligence, more of the field. And as we do, we become more integrated – or more whole. That is, more aware of our connectivity, and of the illusion of our separateness.

If, on the other hand, we choose to act unconsciously, to live through our lower, or egoic self, we become more dis-integrated.

Interestingly, dis, as a prefix means reversal, negation, lack, separation from. Dis came from the Latin word for the Roman god of the underworld – Pluto.  If our consciousness is dis-integrated, we can indeed enter the territory of the hell worlds. We do not have to look far in the world today to see where the prevailing state of dis-integration is taking us.

But, we must not lose our faith.  That the cosmos is ordered is revealed in the word itself – cosmos means order. Where we have the opposite of order – chaos – is where the natural law of entropy (the second law of thermodynamics) has been allowed to run its course.  This means consciousness has diminished from the system – and therefore it has become dis-integrated. Yet within the disintegration of chaos, lies its opposite – the potential for integration.  Beyond chaos there is always the seedling of a new state of order.  Just as we have our personal ‘shadow’ –  comprised of that which has been rejected from our consciousness – the Earth has her shadow too.  Earth’s emotional body, the lower astral, contains a vast repository of all the evil thoughts and deeds that have manifested throughout her long history. Just as our personal emotional body brings rejected material back into our conscious awareness through illness and/or psychologically or physically cataclysmic events – the Earth’s  aura periodically spews upheaval and mayhem out into the physical, visible world.  And just as illness ultimately serves us, by bringing us back into balance, helping us to integrate material previously rejected (this usually occurs on an unconscious level), so too do the chaotic events we are witnessing in the world serve the purpose of balancing and integrating the split (duality) that caused them!  Illness makes us honest, and chaos in the world does likewise.  Honesty is the prerequisite of integration.

It is important to acknowledge the shadow as being simply one side of a polarisation that is inherent in this system of duality. It is the side without light. Light is information. And the shadow is without light because it has been rejected from consciousness. As we progress through life we are constantly compelled to choose – one thing or another, one desire over another. Every decision is a choice to realize a certain principle. In choosing a principle, we have chosen to manifest, or to make conscious, one end of a polarity. The pole we have not chosen, stays outside of our consciousness – and goes underground, where it remains unmanifest, or invisible. The world of the invisible has greater power than the visible – for it is the birthplace of everything in the manifest world.  All that is rejected, or not made conscious by us – which is everything that is the opposite of who and what we consider ourselves to be, does not vanish into the ethers……it goes into the shadow, or the invisible. From here it may be gradually integrated, through conscious awareness, new choices, new decisions, different actions.  If not integrated, it can create sickness: mental, emotional, or physical.

Evil – live spelt backwards – is life’s negative, or flip side. (The truth so often lies in a place that is inside out, back to front, or opposite – hidden, so to speak, in plain sight). Evil, being the opposite of life, is that which blocks the flow of spirit and the capacity we all have, as free-willed individuals to choose more consciousness, more of the field. It may be intelligent, but it has no intelligence. It is un-informed; lacking in-formation, or light. Consciousness always seeks balance and harmony. Evil is imbalanced and dis-harmonious and it creates dis-sonance, dis-tress, dis-ease and chaos – because it blocks energy.  It blocks, or negates the free flowing energy that is life.  It is therefore death: to the life force, and with it, the body.  We know illness and disease are the result of blockages in the free-flowing energy of life. Unblocked or unhealed, these lead to death – the ultimate dis-integration.

The good news is, the forces of darkness (and dis-integration) controlling us, and worse (actively trying to extinguish us), are actually losing the battle.  Evil only appears to prevail.  A process is underway to balance the equation and heal the split of duality that has created such pain.  We need to trust the process. This split (the fall) has torn us away from, or at least obscured, our true natures – as participants in the conscious evolution of ourselves and the field.  As Einstein observed, the field is the sole governing agency of the particle. What he didn’t say is, as we particles expand our awareness and wake up to the manipulation of our consciousness – we have the power to collectively change the field. It is a two-way process.  As our consciousness  alters, the field we live in alters. We are governed by the field, but we are participants in it as well – even as mere particles that we are.  As we heal our personal imbalances and become more integrated – the dis-integration we see in the world around us will be healed.  As we learn to relinquish fear, there will be no need to see it projected onto the screen of the external world.

We chose to be here now and we no longer need to learn through pain. We do not have to witness the destruction of our world and everything we hold dear. We can choose to make this transition through love, healing and gentleness, rather than chaos, pain and destruction. To do so, we must take responsibility for our own healing, our own health and wellbeing – on all levels. We must open our hearts and stop listening to our heads and the voices of fear.  The ancient wisdom of the Tao states:  “Only when we are sick of our sickness, shall we cease to be sick. The sage is not sick, but is sick of sickness, this is the secret of health.”   In other words, everything comes down to our awareness and our willingness to choose more consciousness, more of the field; to decide, collectively to stop being sick!  As we heal ourselves, our world will change.  It is an exciting time to be alive – and it is vital we all do our part. Ultimately, the best way to serve others, is to first raise our own consciousness.  Let’s do it!
